The Sruti channel on World Space, a channel for Carnatic music, is
dedicating its Nadopasana segment (7 am to 10 am) to Carnatic
songs composed in Chennai. Host - Srividya Prakash.
August 22:
All India Radio, on its FM Rainbow channel
is broadcasting two special programmes.
From 7 to 8 a.m., it features Vincent D' Souza who talks on what
Madras Day is all about and offers snippets on the events.
From 5 to 6 p.m. the same day, historian S. Muthiah will trace the
foundation and growth of Chennai.
Throughout the day, the channel will focus on the city.This
channel can also be heard on AIR's DTH channel.
