Flautist Mala Chandrasekhar (daughter of Neela)
I feel really proud and happy and thankful to God for bestowing this highest honour on them. They have been recognised as a duo, and that too during the platinum jubilee year of The Music Academy.

Their music is 100% pure classical with no gimmicks. Though the output of the music sounds very simple and easy on the ear, it is very difficult to accompany them. The 'sahityam' (lyrics of the song) are reproduced on the flute in the vocal style. I have to keep up their tradition.

Violinist Kanyakumari
Their music is very appealing to both the common rasika and the learned. Their kutcheri is never dull. It is a very satisfying experience to accompany them. They move very well with the accompanying artistes. I have been accompanying them at several concerts in the last 15 years. We like each other's playing.

Mridangist Murugabhoopathy
I feel very happy that the Sikkil Sisters have received this award. My guru Thanjavur Upendran has also accompanied them. The way they plan a kutcheri is very interesting. Their handling of the ragas and the songs keeps the audience to their seats. They are very calculative and play in different speeds too. They are very hardworking and dedicated.
