Stree Shakthi

Three dancers. Three stories. Three dance styles. At Brahma Gana Sabha, dancers Gopika Varma, Priya Murle and Uma Muralikrishna got together to present a jugalbandhi concert. Titled 'Stree Shakthi', the dance feature narrated stories of three powerful women - Savitri, Draupadi and Kannagi.

Uma-Priya-Gopika

Uma Muralikrishna portrayed 'Savitri' in the Kuchipudi style, Gopika Varma presented 'Draupadi' in Mohiniattam, and Bharatanatyam dancer Priya Murle was Kannagi.

The trio have been presenting this show the last three Seasons, and it seems to have fallen in place with the rasikas.

Says Gopika, "In a jugalbandhi concert, an understanding between the artistes is very important. And the three of us enjoy working with each other."
