The Music Academy's Sadas was held on Jan. 4, 2005.
The title of 'Sangita Kalanidhi' was conferred on senior mridangist Vellore G. Ramabhadran. The 'Sangita Kalacharya' was awarded to senior vocalist Rukmani Rajagopalan and Bharatanatyam dance guru V.P. Dhananjayan. The T.T.K. award was presented to jalatarangam artiste Anayampatti S. Ganesan and Mumbai based vocalist Balamani (who was not present).
The 'Vageeyakara' award was presented to musician Rukmani Ramani and the 'Papa Venkatramiah Award' to senior violinist V.V. Subramaniam.
The various endowment awards were presented to about 40 other musicians. Following the Sadas, a Bharatanatyam dance recital featured Urmila Sathyanarayanan.
