'Rasika Priya' on Doordarshan
Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai launches 'Rasikapriya', a new weekly programme on music and dance. It is being telecast on Sundays at 8.30 pm on DD1 and Podhigai from October, 2004. Each episode is devoted to a particular artiste. It features snippets from DD's concert recordings and an interview with the artiste.
The series sponsored by RMKV silk store in Chennai has a special promo at the end of the programme, where a designer saree created at the shop is promoted.
Bhuvaneshwari Chandrasekaran is the executive producer of 'Rasika Priya'. The programmes feature Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, D.K. Pattammal, Sudharani Raghupathy and Padma Subrahmanyam among other senior artistes.
