Mylapore Fine Arts Club
The Mylapore Fine Arts Club hosts its 53rd year Art Festival from December 11, 2004 to January 15, 2005. On the inaugural day, veena artiste E. Gaayathri will be honoured with the title of 'Sangeetha Kala Nipuna'. Also on this occasion, prizes will be distributed to the winners of the music competitions and a dance recital will feature Gita Kasturi of Bombay.

Kapali Fine Arts
Sri Kapali Fine Arts opens its 35th Art Festival on December 14, at R.K. Swamy auditorium, Sivaswamy Kalalaya school campus, Mylapore, Chennai. The sabha honours Bharatanatyam dancer Shylaja Ramji, a senior disciple of Prof. Sudharani Raghupathy. Inaugural concert features a Bharatanatyam recital by Divya Kasturi. Kutcheris will be held from Dec. 18 at Srinivasa Sastri Hall and at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's mini hall.

Narada Gana Sabha
Narada Gana Sabha hosts its annual 'Isai Natya Nataka Vizha' from December 15, 2004 to January 1, 2005. The title of 'Nadhabrahmam' will be conferred on veteran Carnatic vocalist D.K. Pattammal and the 'Senior musician award' will be presented to Thanjavur L. Venkatesa Iyengar. The fest will be inaugurated by Swami Dayananda Saraswathi.

Parthasarathy Swami Sabha
The 104 year-old Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will host its annual music festival from Dec. 16 to Dec 31, 2004 at 'Vidya Bharathi', 55, Bheemasena Garden Road, Mylapore. On the inaugural day, the sabha confers the title of 'Sangeetha Kala Sarathy' on flute maestro Dr. N. Ramani. The inaugural concert features violin maestro Kunnakudi R. Vaidhyanathan.

SAFE's music fest
Shanthi Arts Foundation and Endowments(SAFE) hosts its annual music festival from December 11 to 21, at Sastri Hall and Dakshinamurthy auditorium (P.S. School campus), Mylapore. On the inaugural day, musicians Kuzhikarai P. Viswalingam, Thirupoonthuruthi Venkatesan and Thiruvengadu Jayaraman are being honoured.
