Mudhra’s 10th fine arts festival was inaugurated by senior musician M. Balamuralikrishna on December 15, at Freedom hall, Nungambakkam. The Mudhra Award of Excellence was conferred on musician T.V. Gopalakrishnan.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Balamurli said that Gopalakrishnan had accompanied him in more than 2,000 concerts.

The December issue of samudhra magazine, audio CD and a VCD on T.V.G.'s 'The Art of Mridangam' were released on the occasion.
