The much awaited December Season rolls in Chennai with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan inaugurating its music and dance fest on November 25, at Bhavan's auditorium, Mylapore, Chennai. The fest is held in association with Kala Pradarshini and will be on till December 15, 2004.

The inaugural programme commenced with a concert by Saxophone Sisters - Lavanya and Subhalakshmi.

Justice K.S. Bakthavatsalam, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Chennai Kendra appealed to the rasikas and to industrialist P. Obul Reddy, former Vice-President, The Music Academy, to host the Academy's fest this year. (The Music Academy will be able to host its annual conference and music fest only if the Madras High Court, where it is facing many legal cases, gives it special permission. The fest was inaugurated by K.S. Brahmadathan, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Chennai Telephones.

A vocal concert by Papanasam Ashok Ramani followed. 'Nritta Makarandam', a seminar featuring lec-dems on dance will be held in the mornings on December 10, 11 and 12.
