Felicitating Lalgudi
Violin maestro Lalgudi Jayaraman will be felicitated at a day long programme on Jan. 4, 2004 at Krishna Gana Sabha. This is part of the Swarna Jayanthi Mahotsava of Krishna Gana sabha.
The programme commences at 8.30 am and features a vocal concert by S.P. Ramh, a lec-dem on Lalgudi Jayaraman's compositions and music for Bharatanatyam by Sujatha Vijayaraghavan, Panel discussion on Lalgudi's work and achievements in music lead by Sulochana Pattabhiraman, Karaikudi Subramanim, and T.R. Subramaniam, group singing by the disciples of Lalgudi Jayaraman, vocal concert by Lalitha Krishnan, violin duet by G.J.R.Krishnan and G.J.R. Vijayalakshmi.
At 6 pm the Swarna Jayanthi Special award presentation begins with a prayer by Bombay Jayashri Ramnath, (Jayaraman's disciple) V.Shankar will preside and Chitra Visweswaran, R. Venugopal and R. Thyagarajan will felicitate followed by the release of 'Jayanthi Commomeration Malar' by Nalli Kuppusamy.
The Swarna Jayanthi cassette containing works of Lalgudi Jayaraman will also be released on the occasion.
