Carnatica hosts twin fests this Season

Carnatica launches its silver jubilee music festival this Season at a venue in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai.

35 individuals who have contributed much to the growth of the fine arts field and who have also supported Carnatica's journey thus far will be honoured. This includes not only the well-known artistes but also includes art patrons, organisers, audio video technicians, volunteers, advertising and creative designers.

The events are in support of project AROGYAM run by Asha Trust.

This edition of the fest is from Dec. 14 and covers the Global Heritage Arts Fest and the Paddhathi Music Fest.

Carnatica and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha are the collaborators.

The venue - Sri Sankara Vidyashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School Auditorium, Thiruvanmiyur.

Event will showcase twenty plus concerts, dance and drama spanning 11 days. This festival aims to integrate people and rasikas and bring peace and harmony through different art forms and to extend December music fest to areas beyond the traditional Mylapore and T.Nagar areas.

The launch function will start with the blessings of vidwan Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman.

The launch concert starts with performance by students of Tamil Nadu Dr J. Jayalalithaa Music & Arts University. This will be followed by a tribute perfromance - Ghantasala 100 - by Dr Sudha Raja’s inclusive Sargam Choir. The inaugural day’s final performance will be by U.Ve Dushyant Sridhar with V. Deepika and Bursa Sriram on “Thirukolur Penpillai Rahasiyam”.

The second showcase event is The Paddhathi Music Fest being held at Desiga Vidya Bhavanam, Mylapore from December 25 to January 5, 2023 in association with Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam. This fest focusses on traditional music and features artistes from India and abroad. Performances here start daily at 9 am.
