The annual Thyagaraja aradhana at the place where the famed Carnatic music great attained mukthi, in Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu will be held this year but in a short format due to pandemic time regulations.
The aradhana, which usually runs for 5/ 6 days will now be held only on two days - Feb.1 and 2.
The inauguration is on day one and concerts will be held that evening under the mantap that goes up around the samadhi of the saint composer.
The singing of the famed pancharatna kritis is on Day 2, 9 am onwards for about 50 minutes.
It is not yet clear if the organisers will allow hundreds of artistes and people to sit together inside the mantapam as is the case in normal times for the gosti (mass) singing of the pancharatna kritis.
