Bharatanatyam artistes body to raise funds for affected dancers, artistes

This is a press release that Chennai-based dancer and guru Roja Kannan has put out -

At ABHAI are really pained at the widespread disaster that has been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic....

We are especially worried about the plight of artists who have all been most affected because of the cancellation of classes, workshops, performances and performance tours in India and abroad.

It has been decided to initiate an "ABHAI - Artists for Artists Welfare Fund " to help such Artists. We request you to contribute to this Fund for helping our own fraternity which will be distributed to the most affected and deserving Artists.

Since we have FCRA clearance from the RBI our fraternity from abroad can directly transfer online in their own currency into our account.

As you might be aware, we had similar initiatives during Chennai floods / Kerala floods and reached out to many affected artists / people from allied industries during their times of need. This is another such initiative to extend our helping arm during these very difficult times.
