The annual Yagnaraman July Fest in Chennai celebrates the contribution of the late secretary of a popular sabha in Chennai.
Yagnaraman was known for promoting less known arts and artistes, pushing the cover in the festivals at his sabha and giving it a new look.
The 2017 edition of the fest in his memory is from Jun 30 to Jul 2, 2017 at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, T. Nagar, Chennai.

10.00 am - Tamil Nadu Eyal isai Nataka Mandram presents ‘Venthu Thaninthathu’ (an environmental awareness creation drama) by Anna University Cultural Group. Story by G. Sivakumar
11.00 am - ‘Karagam, Kavadai & Poikkal Kuthirai’ Folk arts Programme by Madurai Arya Kalaikoodam
6.30 pm - Utsav Music presents Ganga to Kaveri ( dance production) - connecting rivers through dance. Conceived & Produced by Churchill Pandian, featuring dancers Priyanka Chandrasekar, Prateeksha Kashi, Divya Ravi, Abhya lakshmi & Matangi Prasan. Music : Praveen D.Rao, Singer - Varijashree Venugopal. Historian Dr. Chitra Madhavan has provided the content.
10.00 am - ‘Essentially Divine’ concert by Saashwathi Prabhu. Accompanists: Kumbakonam Swaminathan, N. Sundar & J.B. Sruti Sagar
11.15 am - ‘Hiranya Vadam’ Puranic Drama by Lakshmipathy’s Geethanjali Karnataka Isai Vazhi Nataka Mandram
6.00 pm - ‘Beyond the Obvious’ The story of a warrior woman by Vyshnavie Sainath, Amrender Singh - Group fusion of dance and martial arts. Kalaripayattu (Kerala martial arts form) and Gatka (Sikh martial art form)
7.00 pm - ‘Nirmukthi’ back to nature - Principal characters of Ahalya, Sita and Soorpanaka will be essayed by dancers Uma Sathyanarayanan, Sreelakshmi Govardhan and Deepa Chakravarthy.
4.00 pm - Award Function - ‘Yagnaraman Living Legend Award’ will be conferred on T.V. Gopalakrishnan and ‘Yagnaraman award of Excellence’ for artistes Sandeep Narayan, S.J. Arjun Ganesh & K. Sathyanarayanan
6.00 pm - Sangeetha Sangamam by (Play back singer) Vijay Prakash & Team
