Madurai Muralidharan's 'Sivagamiyin Sabadam' premieres in Chennai

Chennai-based dance guru, choreographer and composer Madurai R. Muralidharan strives extra hard to put a large dance production together and make a grand statement.

He does it between his busy tour ad teaching schedules.

This season, Muralidharan presents 'Sivagamiyin Sabadam' at the grand Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Chennai on February 9 with two shows - one in the early afternoon and the other in the evening.

Muralidharan who has produced over 20 dance productions which are always pegged on digital, prerecorded music, also features a host of artistes of all sorts, not just Bharatanatyam dancers in his new production.

Since late December, this buzz for this production is doing the media rounds and posters are now up in the city.

This is said to be Muralidharan's biggest production and for this, he signed in musician D A Srinivas to score the music and the latter in turn, employed some professional singers.

Muralidharan has also employed special lighting engineers, used digitally recorded music and also has folk and martial artistes on stage in this production.

The show is based on the famed novel written by Kalki and later this year, tour the USA and UK in the July-September 2013 season.
