A feast of Carnatic music with the accent on percussion and the focus on mridangam vidwan Palghat Mani Iyer in his centenary year is to be presented by Percussive Art Center at Bangalore Gayana Samaja premises on K.R. Road, Bangalore.

This festival is from July 15 to 22.

To be inaugurated at 10 am by Vidwan Dr. T.K. Murthy in the presence of Vidwan V. Kamalakar Rao and Vidwan B.K. Chandramouli.

The inauguration will be followed by a concert by Rudrapatnam Brothers with Mysore V. Srikanth (violin) -V. Kamalakar Rao (mridangam) – B. S. Purushottam (khanjari)

On the same day, at 6.00 pm is a concert by Dr. R. K. Srikantan (vocal) – R.S.Ramakanth (vocal support) – H.K.Venkataram (violin), Dr. T.K. Murthy (mridangam) – B.C.Manjunath (mridangam)

On 16th July, at 5.00 pm is a Illustrated Talk by Dr. T.K.Murthy on 'Reminiscences of Palghat Mani Iyer;

At 6.00 pm: is the concert by Dr. T.S.Sathyavathy (vocal) – Nalina Mohan (violin) – K.U.Jayachandra Rao (mridangam) – G.S.Ramanujam (ghatam)

On 17th July, at 5.00 pm is an Illustrated Talk by B. R. Srinivas on ‘Palghat Mani Iyer and Palghat Raghu – A Comparative Study’.

At 6.00 pm: is a Madurai Mani Iyer birth centenary programme with a concert by T.V.Shankaranarayan (vocal) – C.N.Chandrashekar (violin) - Srimushnam V. Raja Rao (mridangam) – H.S.Sudhindra

On 18th July, at 5.00 pm: is a Special Laya Vinyasa by A. Renukaprasad (mridangam) – A.S.N. Swamy (khanjari) – L.V.Mukund (flute support)

At 6.00 pm is a concert by Jayanthi Kumaresh (veena) – Kumaresh (violin) – A.V. Anand (mridangam) – U.N.Giridhar Udupa (ghatam)

On 19th July, at 5 pm is an Illustrated Talk by Mysore A. Radhesh on ‘Musical Thoughts of Palghat Mani Iyer – A Youngster’s Perspective’.

At 5.45 pm is Special Laya Vinyasa by veteran artiste Denkanikottai V. Mani (special thavil) – N. Amrit (khanjari)

At 6.45 pm is a Jugalbandhi by Praveen Godkhindi (Hindustani flute) and M.K.Pranesh (Carnatic flute) with the Laya Lahari group (percussion ensemble of Ayanar College of Music)

On 20th July , at 5 pm is a Illustrated Talk by Trivandrum V. Surendran on ‘My interactions with Palghat Mani Iyer’ At 6.00 pm: is the Vidushi Vallabham Kalyanasundaram Birth Centenary Programme featuring S. Shankar (vocal) – Charulatha Ramanujam (violin) – Trivandrum V. Surendran (mridangam) – M. Gururaj (morsing)

On 21st July, at 10.00 am is a Seminar on Thalavadyas (supported by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi) on ‘PALGHAT T.S. MANI IYER – BANI, MEMORIES AND FOOTPRINTS’ with presentations by Palghat T.R. Rajamani & T.R. Rajaraman

At 6.00 pm: a concert by Mysore M. Nagaraj & Dr. Mysore M. Manjunath (violin duet) - Dr. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman (mridangam) – G.Guruprasanna (khanjari)

On 22nd July, at 10.00 am is the finale of this festival. Dr. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman will present the awards and deliver the valedictory address. Palghat T. R. Rajamani will be guest of honour
