Admissions open to music course at The Music Academy in Chennai  

The Advanced School of Carnatic Music started last year by The Music Academy in Chennai has completed its first year with 8 brilliant students most of whom are otherwise professional engineering or science graduates who opted for music as their career.

The course leading to a diploma is of 3 years duration with main focus on manodharma sangita.

Admissions are now open for the new year.

The Academy has roped in Sangita Kalanidhis, Kala Acharyas, young and veteran eminent musicians to become Teachers. The faculty includes R. Vedavalli, Director. Chengulpat Ranganathan, P S Narayanaswamy, Suguna Varadachari, Prof. Ritha Rajan, Academic Coordinator. and vocalist S. Sowmya and violinist Mullaivasal Chandra Mouli.

Apart from the regular faculty, the School also had eminent musicians as visiting professors. V. Subrahmaniam, Suguna Purushottaman, R S Jayalakshmi, R K Sriram Kumar, Arun Prakash, Sriram Parasuram and Sanjay Subramaniam are among the guest faculty this year.
