Chennai-based dancer Lavanya Raghuraman is presenting a dance feature titled Neythal - The Continental Shelf, a Bharatanatyam solo performance in Singapore on Feb.19 evening at the Esplanade Theatre Studio.
This is a ticketed show and is hotsed by Alapana Arts, Singapore.
Lavanaya attempts to share the stories that are associated with the coastal lands ( like India and Singapore), their histories and cultures and those associated with water and to express them in the classical dance mode.
She is a sishya of the famed Dhananjayans.
The Neythal concept was Lavanya's and the resource person was Dr. S. Raghuraman, a Tamil scholar. Lavanya has designed the choreography.
