Leela Samson to head Sangeet Natak Akademi
 		 

Dancer Leela Samson has been appointed chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, the state-run institute for performing arts which is based in Delhi.

She has received her appointment orders from the President for a term of five years.

Leela is currently the director of Kalakshetra, an institute for classical arts in Chennai. She will continue to hold this post apart from her duties at the Akademi.
