Percussive Arts Centre organised THALAVADYOTSAV 2010 - its 29th Annual Percussive Arts Festival and Music Conference from July 7 to 11, 2010 at the Bangalore Gayana Samaja premises, K. R. Road, Bangalore.
Several eminent scholars, musicians, musicologists and others participated.
The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Roddham Narasimha, renowned scientist and Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalor.
A few arwads were conferred on artistes.
The Lifetime Achievement Palghat MANI IYER Memorial Award was given to eminent Konnakol Vidwan Trichy R. THAYUMANAVAN
The Palani SUBRAMANYA PILLAI Memorial Award to eminent mridanga vidwan A. RAJACHAR
The Bangalore K. VENKATARAM Memorial Award to musician & Ankrang artiste Dr. ANASUYA KULKARNI
A special award was given to ace mridangam manufacturer P. V. PARAMESWARAN. S. V. GIRIDHAR and S. ASHOK, both mridangists were also decorated.
