ABHAI (Association of Bharatanatyam Artistes of India) is holding a summer workshop from May1 to 7 at the Narada Gana Sabha foyer everyday.

This year ( 2010), in keeping with the centenary year of dance guru Vazhuvoor Ramiah Pillai, ABHAI is heralding this year by conducting a workshop by senior guru Rhadha. She will be teaching a Pancharatna kriti and saadinchinaey just the way her guru taught her.

Rhadha, herself an accomplished guru, is the younger sister of Kumari Kamala and is the closest representative of the Vazhuvoor bani.

Later in May, from May 19 to 23, ABHAI is conducting a unique workshop at Mellatur village in Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu) where the artistes of the Bhagavatamela tradition that has been nurtured in this area will teach the ABHAI participants 2 dharus.
