The Kalamandalam Annual Dance Festival and Sangeetotsav – 2010 is to be held in May at different venues across Kolkata.

Somnath G. Kutty. Secretary, Kalamandalam says the main idea of taking the celebrations all over Kolkata is to create awareness and showcase Indian cultural traditions among the people.

"Our programme are open and free to all and we will be presenting our students of the different branches along with a senior student performing solo on each day," he adds.

On 6th May, 2010, the Kalamandalam Sangeetotsav 2010 will be held at Sisir Mancha, Rabindra Sadan Complex, Kolkata.

This is an annual event of Kalamandalam which provides a stage for the young and talented classical dancers from different fields to showcase their art in Kolkata.

This year the artistes include Pallavi Saran Mathur - Bharatanatyam - New Delhi: Moumala Nayak – Kathak - New Delhi: Keka Sinha – Kathak - Mumbai: Itishree Mohanty - Odissi - Bhubaneswar and Kala Bhumi - Sattriya Dance - Guwahati
