Soumyasree, director of the dance institute Devmudraa which was started in September 2007 in Aurangabad says her centre is hosting its first classical dance and music fest in this north Indian city.
It will be held on Feb.26
Devmudraa is a school imparting quality training in Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi, promoting classical and folk cultures and using performing arts as a tool to communicate on social issues.
The Samskriti series will be a platform for young Aurangabad artistes and also for artistes from other states to perform in Aurangabad,
This time around, the guest artiste is Manasi Sengupta, a talented Kathak danseuse from Kolkatta, who had performed at many festivals in India .
The group performing from Aurangabad are five dancers led by V Soumyasree, Sharwari Gajare, Shubhashree Gajare, Pooja Gaikwad and Shruti Mokashi, all proficient in Bharata Natyam.
