As the annual music season continues in the new year, the country’s largest construction and engineering player – Larsen & Toubro, has chipped in its own bit.

A Panchangam Calendar was released by L&T some time ago. This calendar saw music given shape in strokes of brush and colours by the eminent Vidwan [94 year old] S Rajam - who is acclaimed and accomplished in music as well in painting!

The 72 Melakartha Raga’s saw colourful interpretation – from the erstwhile known only in the form of musical interpretation – across the 12 chakras.

As a progression to this calendar theme, a small pocket sized booklet took further shape.

This booklet depicts the ‘ragalakshanas’ of the 72 Melakartha ragas and with the 12 chakra’s of ‘the mind, body and soul’.

Thousands of booklets were circulated and more are just out.

This ABC of melakartha booklet is useful for students as well as the learned musicians.
