Vamshi Academy's Music Fest in Bangalore
 

Vamshi Academy of Music Trust ( R ) promoted by Vidwan B.K. Anantha Ram. a senior flautist of Karnataka is conducting a Karthik Music Festival and 11th anniversary on 13, 14 & 15th November 2009 daily @ 4 p.m. at Seva Sadan auditorium, 14th Cross, behind MLA School, Near Sai Baba Temple, Sampige Road Malleswaram, Bangalore-3.

The academy always organizes thematic programmes, this year being 11th anniversary celebrations it has chosen a theme called “Ekaadasha Nada Vaibhava” Utsav comprising Karnatic Music, Hindustani Music, flute with Venu, Veena, Violin, and percussion ensembles.

It has chosen Karnatic Music concert for the inaugural day which takes off on Ekaadashi day followed by Karnatic vocal music on the second day and a flute with Venu, Veena, Violin with percussion ensemble programme called “Ekaadasha Vaadya Naada Vaibhava” (Karnataka Symphony) comprising of 11 instruments & a 11 raga composition specially composed for the occassion for the first time.

Leading artistes of the state like Vidwan B. K. Anantha Ram and Master Amith A.Nadig (father & son flute-duo), Rudrapatnam Brothers (Thyagarajan & Tharanathan), R.A.Rama Mani,, D.Balakrishna & Geeta Ramanand (Veena) with Vidwan TAS Mani, Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, T N Ramesh, Arjun Kumar, Sukanya Ramgopal, R. Adamya, Rajkumar, Guruprasanna, Bharadwaj, Srisylan, Phanindra Bhaskar (percussion artistes) & Vid. Nalina Mohan, R.Dayakar, C N.Chandrashekar, B K.Raghu, Achyuta Rao, Ashwin Kalyan (on Violin), Sai Tejas Chandrasekar, C R. Sridhar (Hindustani vocal), Dr.Ravindra Katoti (Harmonium) and Varijasri (Flute) are taking part in the Music Festival.

The festival will be inaugurated & presided on 13th Nov 2009 by Dr.C.N.Ashwathanarayan, M.L.A, Malleshwaram, Thirudas, Director,Krishnakala Kshetra Iskon, & A.Ramakrishnan will be chief guests & release 3 audio albums of flute “Keeravaani, Mahapraana & East - West Meets Fusion” (played by B.K. Anantha Ram & Amith A.Nadig) .

On 15th November, at the valedictory function of the Trust, Anantha Kumar, MP will preside, S. Sureshkumar, state minister is the Guest of Honour, Jayrama Raje Urs, Secretary, Dept. of Kannada & Culture, Manu Baligar, Director, Dept. of Kannada & Culture & M.R.V.Prasad, President, Bangalore Gayana Samaja will be the chief guests.

Veteran Karnatic vocalist & president of Vamshi Academy A. Rajamma Keshava Murthy & well known flautist B.K.Anantha Ram, will also be present. On this occasion the Trust will be honouring “Sri Sheshadripuram Ramotsava Samiti” a music organisation, senior vocalist T. S. Vasantamadhavi and art patron Srinivasa Rao from Qatar-Doha with annual Vamshi Puraskar Awards.

Vidwan B.K. Anantha Ram is the son of Vidhushi A.Rajamma Keshavamurthy, a veteran & famous vocalist of Karnataka . The family of A.Rajamma Keshava Murthy has been serving the music world for over 5 decades.
