The Dr. T K Murthy School of Music and Trust and Murthy's sishyas hosted an event on July 9 evening at The Music Academy in Chennai - to celebrate the vidwan's 75 years in music.

Academy president N. Murali released a DVD on Mohra/Korvai in 108 talas conceived by Murthy. Ustad Zakir Hussain received the first copy.

Ghatam maestro Vikku Vinayakram launched a web site on Dr. Murthy. It was designed by Rithvik Raja and Sandhya Prabhat.

The evening ended with a special 'tala vinyasam' concert that featured Dr. Murthy, Zakir Hussain, Vikku Vinayakram and others.

Murthy's sishyas performed at concerts they hosted on the eve of this grand event at the Academy's mini hall.
