Festival for music students
A note from T. M. Krishna

Svanubhava is a festival conceptualized by 'Matrka' an organisation founded by Bombay Jayashri and myself to provide a space for music and dance education for students of the arts in a free and exiting format. The first festival was conducted in 2008 August.

The overwhelming response last year and its grand success has spurred us on to conduct Svanubhava this year again. YACM is an active collaborator of this event.

Each day of Svanubhava saw more than 800 students of music and dance. Hence, here we are presenting Svanubhava ’09.

Through this event, we wish to expose music students to more programmes, both educative and fun, and also to give students of music an opportunity to meet and interact with each other and enjoy the experience of this wonderful music.

Every programme will be very interactive in nature, giving the students an opportunity to ask questions and learn from many great artists.

All the events organised are from the ideas that were received from the music students of the three institutions and from other private students.

Hence, they get an opportunity to listen to their favourite artistes exclusively for themselves. Here is an opportunity to hear, interact and learn from some of the great Carnatic musicians and dancers.

This event is open to all music students. Lunch will also be provided on all 6 days.

The first 2 days (4th and 5th August) will be held at Kalakshetra, the next 2 days (6th and 7th) at The Adayar Government Music College, and the last 2 days (8th and 9th) at The Music Academy, Madras.

The timings for the event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. everyday.
