In Chennai, the Dr. T K Murthy School of Music and Trust and Murthy's sishyas are hosting an event on July 9 evening at The Music Academy.

Academy president N. Murali will release a DVD on Mohra/Korvai in 108 talas conceived by Murthy and Ustad Zakir Hussain will receive the first copy.

Ghatam maestro Vikku Vinayakram will launch a web site on Dr. Murthy.

The evening ends with a special 'tala vinyasam' that features Dr. Murthy, Zakir Hussain, Vikku Vinayakram, Sivamani, V. Selva Ganesh and Umayalpuram B. Sivaraman.

The event starts at 5.15 p.m. and it is open to all.
