Workshop on the Melaragamalika of Maha Vaidyanatha Sivan
 


Devaganavali, a trust formed under the guidance of senior vocalist and guru R.Vedavalli aims at propagating traditional Carnatic music through lectures, demonstrations and archival projects.
They are now organising a workshop on the Melaragamalika of Mahavaidyanatha Sivan on March 28 an 29.
The Melaragamalika is a rare masterpiece, composed by Maha Vaidyanatha Sivan combining all the 72 mela ragas, divided into twelve chakras of 6 ragas each.

The resource person for the workshop will be R. Vedavalli.

In this workshop, guru Vedavalli ha planned to cover the first six chakras of suddha madhyama ragas.
Participants will be given photocopies of the composition with notations, for future reference and study.

Content: First six Suddha Madhyama Chakras ( 36 ragas)
Time: 10 a.m to 1 p.m each day
Venue: Lakshmipuram, Royapettah, Chennai - 600 014

Participation in the workshop will be on a first come first served basis.
