Artistes, writers and professionals from various fields are honoured with Kalaimamani awards instituted by the Tamil Nadu State government every year. As many as 70 persons are selected to receive the award this year, The list includes film artistes, classical musicians and dancers, folk artistes, theatre artistes and gurus.

Carnatic vocalists A. V. S. Sivakumar and Maharajapuram Srinivasan, violinist Embar Kannan, mirudhangam artiste Vazhuvoor Ravi, thavil vidwans T. M. Ramanathan and A. Manikandan, nagaswaram artistes T. V. Rajagopla Pillai and S. V. Meenakshisundaram are among the artistes who would receive the awards.

Bharathanatyam dancers Jakir Hussain, Sangeetha Kabilan, Kayalvizhi Kabilan, Aiswharya Dhanush and Swetha Gopalan will also receive the award.

Music gurus Sirkazhi S. Jayaraman and Nagercoil M. S. Muthappa and bharathanatyam guru Shailaja will be honoured with this award this year.
