As the aradhana to commemorate the samadhi of saint Thyagaraja, a celebrated Carnatic music composer came to a close at Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur district on Thursday morning, a similar tribute began to unfold at a Mylapore venue.

Sri Thiagaraja Sangeetha Vidwath Samajam, located near Sri Madhava Perumal Temple, was the venue for the aradhana which began with abishekam and the unchavarthi bhajans sung during a limited procession in the area called Thyagarajapuram.

Then followed the mass singing of the pancharatna kritis at the Samajam hall followed by aarthi.

Many leading musicians participated in this well organised aradhana.
