Fr. S. M. George passes away.

Founder of Kalai Kaviri, a fine arts institution in Trichy (Tamnil
Nadu), Fr. S. M. George passed away on Oct. 20 after a brief
illness. He was 68.
Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts is the first institution of its
kind in south India for Bharathanatyam and Carnatic music,
affiliated to the Bharathidasan University.
Fr. George introduced arts studies to the poor and backward class
students by offering them scholarships at this institute.
He also founded the off-campus degree programme in Bharathanatyam at
this college in 2004.
Kalai Kaviri college of Fine Arts is at 18, Benwells Road,
Tiruchirapalli.
