Musician, musicologist Prof. Mysore V. Ramarathnam passed away on Nov. 15, 2008 at his residence in Mysore.

Prof. Ramarthnam was the only vocalist disciple of the violin maestro Mysore T. Chowdiah.
Recipient of many awards including Karnataka Kalathilaka from Karnataka State Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Prof. Ramarathnam has authored over 15 books.
