A three day annual music festival will be hosted by Maharajapuram Viswantha Iyer Trust, Chennai from November 9 to November 11, 2008.

Senior veena artiste Kalpagam Swaminathan will receive the Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer Memorial award for this year. This Award comprises Rs.10000 as Cash Award, Gold Medal and a Citation .
Also Senior Musicians Chathalapathi Soundararaja Bhagavathar, Rukmini Ramani and Thanjavur Ramamurthy are to be honoured with Cash Award of Rs.2000 each.

The ‘Youth Awards for Excellence’ comprising Cash Award of Rs. 2000 go to vocalist S. Mahathi, violinist Serthalai Sivakumar and mridangam artiste K. Arunprakash.
