This was a marathon kutcheri.
Rather a string of kutcheris which ran for 100 hours. Continuously. And it took place in Mylapore, Chennai.
This was an event hosted by Global Carnatic Music Association (GCMA), founded by musicians Sudha Raghunathan and K.N.Shashikiran. Held at the Thyagaraja Samajam premises in Mylapore, the event was held for a variety of reasons including a commemoration of the birth centenary of Semmangudi and a campaign to raise donations for the ancestors of Shyama Sastri.
Over 30 artistes performed. The event was held from July 31 to Aug.4.
