The Music Academy, Madras, will confer a special life time achievement award on violin maestro Lalgudi G. Jayaraman, as part of its 80th anniversary celebrations.
The award is in recognition of and a tribute to the monumental contribution of the veteran Carnatic musician over the last six decades as an outstanding violinist, as a teacher, and a composer par excellence, says a Press Release.
The award will be given at a special function to be held shortly, details of which will be announced. The Music Academy, Madras, is turning 80 in 2008.
