Senior Carnatic vocalist M. Balamuralikrishna has been selected for the Sree Guruvayurappan Chembai Puraskaram Award, instituted by the Guruvayur Devaswom for this year.
The award carrys a purse of Rs.51,000, a gold locket containing a picture of Lord Guruvayurappan and a citation.
The award will be presented on the first day of the Chembai Music Festival.
