Well-known ghatam artiste S. Karthick has recently been awarded a Doctorate. Karthick had submitted his thesis on Musical Instruments in Sanskrit Literature for his Ph. D from from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College affiliated to the University of Madras.
Guided by professor Dr. S. Ramaratnam, Retd. Principal of Vivekananda College, Chennai, Karthick says that he got the official confirmation and declaration for the Doctorate from the University of Madras on June 4, 2007.
The ensemble 'HeArt Beat' conceptualised by Karthick is popular among the Carnatic music rasikas.
