The Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Art of Living to be held in Chennai is on the 5th of December, 2006 wherein five hundred dancers are getting together to perform at the Anna University grounds at 6:30 p.m. Ganga Thampi, one of the organisers said “ Guruji Sri Sri Ravi Shankar loves dance and he wanted five hundred dancers to perform the Classical Dance of Tamilnadu, Bharathanatyam”.

Students from almost all the dance schools of Chennai are performing. All the dancers together are performing the Guru Vandanam and Mangalam. The rest of the items are being performed in groups of nearly sixty each choreographed by senior Gurus. “The first number is Bhagyadha Lakshmi Baramma, one of Guruji’s favorite item”, said Ganga. Srekala Barath’s troupe is performing for Bho Shambo and the Narasimhacharis are presenting a thematic piece, Viswa Sakshi. the other items are choreographed by Divyasena, Adith Narayan, Parvathi Balasubramaniam, Nidhi and Bhagyashree.
