Lec - dem series by violin maestro T. N. Krishnan

Sampradaya, the Chennai-based organisation dedicated to the preservation and propagation of South Indian music, in association with the T. N. Krishnan Foundation is presenting the first of a lec-dem series by the legendary violinist T. N. Krishnan.

The first lec-dem in the series will be held on October 4. Perhaps this is the first time the veteran violinist has consented to deliver a series of talks to throw light on his philosophy of music, say the organisers - Sampradaya, presently based in the Kalakshetra campus in Chennai.

Krishnan will also talk about his vision of the major and rakthi ragas, the techniques he has employed for translating that vision into the breathtaking music, all rasikas are familiar with. This is not only a special treat for rasikas but it will be a valuable addition to the archives of Sampradaya.

The lec-dem series will be inaugurated on October 4 at Raga Sudha Hall, Mylapore, Chennai at 6.30 pm.

For the inaugural presentation, the theme will be 'Bhairavi raga'. More deails at cell no. (0) 98841 88068.
