Chennai based dancer-actress Shobana receives the prestigious national honour of 'Padma Shri' this year.
The list of recipients of the highest civilian awards in the country - the 'Padma' awards were announced yesterday by the Govt. of India.
Shobana has been performing widely within the country and abroad in the past few years, and runs a dance school 'Kalarpana' in Chennai, where she trains students in her style of Bharatanatyam.
