M A Narasimhachar Foundation, Bangalore, recently hosted its fourth annual music festival at Gayana Samaja. The foundation has
been conducting three-day long music festivals every year. As part of the festival, a young artist from Karnataka is honoured with
the title 'Ganavaridhi'.
This year's festival opened with a chitraveena recital by Ravikiran, who is also the recipient of this year’s 'Ganavaridhi'. Hyderabad
sisters performed on the second day of the festival. The third and final day featured a vocal concert by Sanjay Subramanyam.
Accompanied on the violin by R. K. Sriramkumar, on the mridangam by Arjun Kumar, on the ghatam by Giridhar Udupa, Sanjay
gave a cherishable performance with rare delights like Mukhari and Neethimathi.
Apart from the annual festival, the foundation also conducts monthly concerts, with an emphasis on promoting young artistes from
Karnataka. It has also been offering scholarships to needy and talented youngsters to pursue music.
