YACM celebrates 20 years / Chennai

| Youth Association for Classical Music (YACM) celebrates its 20th anniversary with music events from August 18 to 23, 2005 at Raga Sudha Hall, Mylapore, in Chennai.
The celebrations were inaugurated by dance guru Padma Subrahmanyam and senior musician Chingelpet Ranganathan. The inaugural concert featured nadaswaram by K. Durgaprasad and D.Venkatesan.
Programme schedule:
Aug. 19, 6.30 pm - Sumitra Vasudev.
Aug. 20, 10 am: Lecture demonstration by S. Sowmya on ‘Kalpita in Manodharma and Manodharma in Kalpita’; 11:30 am: lec-dem by J. Venkataraman on ‘Setting and handling of Nadai Pallavis’; 6.30 pm: 'A Walk down memory lane' (an audio visual presentation on 20 years of YACM)
Aug. 21, 10 am; Face-to-Face, a session where you can ask questions to the top ranking musicians on stage, 6.30 pm: Amrutha Venkatesh – Vocal.
Aug. 22, 6.30 pm: G. Ravikiran – Vocal, Aug 23, 6 pm: Valedictory function, followed by vocal concert of N. Harish.
