Bangalore based music institution, Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira concluded its golden jubilee
celebrations, recently in Bangalore.
The year-long celebrations featured music concerts by senior artistes all through 2004 and Golden
Jubilee concluding programme was held in January - February 2005.
At the recent event, reputed musicians M.S. Sheela, D. Balakrishna, Sanjay Subramanyam, Mysore M.
Manjunath, Sudha Raghunathan, T.M. Krishna, Ranjini and Gayatri, S.Sowmya, Mysore M.K. Saraswathi, Vinayak Thorvi, G.S. Kamala and G.S. Rajalakshmi, O.S. Thyagarajan and V. Kalavathi Avadhooth presented concerts. Shobha Shashikumar, disciple of Revathi Narasimhan presented a Bharatanatyam recital.
The theme of the concerts for the golden jubilee was on compositions by the luminaries of the post-trinity period. This was well appreciated by the music lovers who had attended in large numbers.
The festival was held in the beautiful open-air theatre, situated at the institution premises at
Banashankari 2nd stage, Bangalore.
Earlier, a souvenir containing articles by eminent musicians and musicologists was released during the
inaugural function of the Golden Jubilee year on 1 February 2004 by Vidwan R.K. Srikantan.
