As part of celebrating the Centenary year as a national event, Bangalore Gayana Samaja had arranged a function on 11 February 2005, at Simoga, an active cultural centre outside Bangalore. This was held in association with Sri B.Doraiswamy Iyengar Trust and Sri Guruguha Gana Sabha, Shimoga.

M. Bharadwaj, Chief of Doraiswamy Iyengar Trust welcomed the gathering while T.V.Narayana Shastry presided. H.Kamalanath, President, Bangalore Gayana Samaja in his key-note address lauded the efforts of the Doraiswamy Iyengar Trust for its service in the field of Carnatic music and dance in Shimoga. The Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University, Dr.Chidananda Gowda delivered the inaugural address.

H.N. Sharada and H.R. Prasanna Venkatesh were honoured on the occasion. This was followed by a vocal concert by Trichur V. Ramachandran.

The two day programme concluded with a vocal concert by Ganasri Srinivasulu. On March 20, Chennai based vocalist T.V.Shankaranarayanan presents a concert in Bangalore.
