Dikshithar Day celebrations / Bangalore

Srimadvadiraja Aradhana Trust in association with Sharada Kala Kendra organized the Dikshitar's Aradhana and the fifth anniversary of Vadiraja Kala Bhavana at a newly built grand kutcheri hall - Vasudeva Gana Mandira in Vadiraja Kala Bhavana, Akshayanagar, Yelenahalli, Near Hulimavu, Bangalore on 14 November 2004.

Group

The celebrations started with Goshti Gayana of Dikshitar's compositions. Around 700 people joined together to sing the krithis of Dikshitar. Vidwan R.K.Padmanabha headed the goshti gayana which started with Dikshitar's Navavarnam Sri Kamalambikayam (Shankarabharanam), followed by Panchashatpeeta (Karnataka Deva Ghandhari), Maheshwari (Kashiramakriya), Somasundareswara (Shudha Vasantha), Panchalinga Krithi Chintayamakandamoola (Bhairavi), Sarasijanabha (Naga Gandhari) and concluded with Sree Venkata Girisha (Suruti).

Maladi

After the Goshti Gayana was a vocal duet kutcheri by Malladi Brothers (Sriram and Ravikumar) accompanied by H.K.Venkatram (violin), A.V.Anand (mridangam) and B.N.Chandramouli (Khanjira).

Malladi Brothers started the kutcheri with the Natakurunji Padavarnam Chalamela, followed by Ganapathi (Kalyani).

The concert also featured krithis of Mysore Vasudevacharya Purandaradasa and Annamacharya.
