In Hyderabad, at a packed Ravindra Bharathi, O. S. Thiagarajan accompanied by T.V. Ramanujacharlu (violin), Karaikudi Mani (mridangam), V. Suresh (ghatam), and V.V. Subramaniam on violin accompanied by Trichur Narendran (mridangam), Srirangam Kannan (morsing) treated the specially assembled rasikas.

This was in connection with Akashvani's, (All India Radio) celebration of the Golden Jubilee year of its broadcasting music. On October 9 and 10, 2004 they organized the annual Sangeetha Sammelan concerts in Carnatic and Hindusthani music at 28 of the Akashvani centres from Shimla to Trivandrum, and from Mumbai to Shillong and Guwahati. This included both Vocal and Instrumental Music. National and Top Grade artists of Akashvani and Doordarshan performed at the various centres before live audience.

Some of the other well known artistes who performed were T.V.Shankaranarayanan , N. Ramani on flute, Yella Venkateswararao on mridangam (Delhi), M.S. Sheela (Kolkata), Rudrapatnam Brothers Thyagarajan and Tharanathan, (Chennai), Sugandha Kalamegham, D. Balakrishna on veena (Guwahati), Hyderabad Sisters Haripriya and Lalitha as well as G. Rajnarayan on Flute (Thiruvanthapuram), Srivalsan Menon and Lakshminarayan Sastry on Violin (Madurai), Vijayalakshmi Subramanyam and V. Sathyanarayana on Nagaswaram (Mysore), Malladi Brothers Sriramprasad and Ravikumar as well as Saraswati Rajagopalan on veena (Thanjavur)

All these programmes were recorded for presentation on National and Regional hook ups on Akashvani continuously from 6 November 2004 through 2 January 2005 (except on 30th and 31st December 2004) every night from 10 pm to 11pm. Later, the same concerts will be telecast on Doordarshan also.
