In memory of Maharajapuram Santhanam
 
The Maharajapuram Santhanam Foundation honoured musicians at a function on 19 June, 2004 at Vani Mahal, Chennai.

Vocalist R. Vedavalli was presented the 'Maharajapuram Santhanam Memorial Award' comprising a gold medal and a cash award of Rs. 10,000.

Meritorius awards with a cash component of Rs. 2000 was presented to carnatic vocalist Mangalam Shankar, violinist V.L. Kumar and morsing artiste A.S. Krishnan.

The awards were presented by industrialist P. Obul Reddy. Musicians Sikkil Kunjumani and and P.S. Narayanaswamy and N.V. Subramaniam felicitated the artistes.

An audio cassette of Maharajapuram Santhanam (brought out by Music Today) was also released on the occasion.

A vocal concert on the occasion featured Mangalam Shankar.
