Nada Bharathi promotes young talent / Hyderabad

Nada Bharathi organized two vocal concerts in Hyderabad at the Ahobila Muth recently. The concerts featured N. Subba Lakshmi accompanied by M. Umashankar on violin, and H. S.Gururajachar with M. V. N. Prasad on violin along with P. S. Gopalan on mridangam. Both the artists started with Varnam and rendered compositions of several composers in their two-hour presentations. Gururajachar was honoured by the chief guest C. V. Padmanabhan of IRS.

Formed in 1999 by upcoming musicians in the twin cities area, Nada Bharathi has been conducting monthly kutcheris and annual music festivals. It has organised about 400 performances so far. Every year the sabha has been presenting 'Life Time Achievement awards' which carry a monetary award of Rs. 15000. Previous recipients were B. V. Raman, B.V.Lakshmanan, Sripada Pinakapani and M. S. Gopalakrishnan.

Nada Bharathi also conducts youth exchange programmes for young artistes from several cities.
