| Mudhra's course on music appreciation / Madras |   |
| Mudhra will be conducting a crash course on music appreciation for students and music lovers. This course aiming at imparting knowledge with regard to the practical aspects of Carnatic music, will be for a week’s duration (two hours per day) in the 2nd week of May. Topics to be covered include the fundamentals of Carnatic music, the kutcheri format, the role of the main artiste, accompanists and tambura, the different musical forms sung in a kutcheri, the creative aspects of a concert, methods for easy identification of ragas and talas and more. The methodology includes an introductory seminar, lecture demonstrations, audio clippings, interactive sessions, discussion forum, question answer session etc. The course director is Dr.Radha Bhaskar. Eminent musicians and scholars also participate and share interesting views.
