| Hi-tech Digital Recording Studio Opened in Mangalore |  |
| Mangalore: The renovated state-of-the-art digital recording studio at the Sandesha Foundation in Premnagar, Bajjodi was inaugurated on November 23. The students of the Sandesha Lalitkala Mahavidyalaya accorded a poornakumbha welcome to the guests and also presented a welcome dance. Sandesha director, Father Denis D'Sa welcomed the gathering.

Noted Kannada music director of Paris Pranaya fame, Praveen Duth Stephen, Aravind Kiggal of Ganalahari Studios, Bangalore, Rosario PU College principal Fr Clement Mascarenhas, Kannada film playback singer Rameshchandra, cine script writer Richard Louis and Mangalore's noted music arranger Joel Pereira were the dignitaries on the occasion. The Rs 20-lakh basement studio was switched on by Praveen Duth Stephen. The maiden recording was done by Aravind Kiggal with Rameshchandra's voice Kiggal expressed happiness over the setting up of a modern studio in Mangalore and wished that talents in Mangalore would get due exposure through the new facility. He gave a fervent call to all studios to shun recording of cassettes with smutty content, like risque songs and plays with similar dialogues. Richard Louis foresaw a high potential for the entertainment industry, which, he said, was set to leave the software industry far behind in terms of volume.
Araving Kiggal and Joel Pereira were honoured on behalf of Sandesha by Fr Clement Mascarenhas.. Fr D'Sa presented mementoes to all the dignitaries and the donors. |
